Trnulja is the revival of Trnulja Country Estate into an organic tourist farm. The building of the farm followed the model of the 19th century Tomaževa hiša (Tomaž House), the oldest house in the village of Črna vas (close to Ljubljana) and a cultural monument of national significance. Trnulja country estate offers a 100% sustainable accomodation with self produced local organic food, presenting cultural heritage, educating the guests on sustainability of everyday’s life, using only sustainable energy sources, selling own products.
All dishes and beverages served at the farm are made exclusively from organic ingredients. Also the shop, part of the farm, sales organic products produced by the farm itself or the neighbouring farms. The apartment building of the Trnulja Country Estate was built entirely using health-friendly, ecological materials (wood, clay plaster and hemp insulation) with eco interior made of natural wood and protected with natural oils.
Trnulja is a member of Die Biohotels chain. It has also received in 2015 the award for the most innovative agriculture business in Slovenia.
