Tourism to support Local Communities, Culture & Tradition
This theme will present in three separate panels various good practice stories related to built and intangible heritage, and about the influence of tourism on local communities. For example stories from Guyana and Uganda will show how local and indigenous communities can be involved in and benefit from Tourism. An interesting case from Taiwan will present how an historical tunnel was transformed into a bike lane; and Slovenian destinations will show initiatives regarding the creation of city tours and gastronomy trips in order to enhance their intangible heritage.
