Spreading Tourism Over Space and Time:
Destination Management and Marketing

Under this theme, 4 panels will discuss the challenge of managing large numbers of tourists based on exemplary cases of destination management, creating green tourism products and marketing solutions. Speakers will share their expertise about attracting more responsible types of travellers or to deconcentrate the tourism activity in a specific place. One of the good examples to be presented on this theme is the Croatian Town of Drniš, who aims to provide citizens and visitors with a higher standard of living and quality service through the concept of “smart city”. You can also embark on a journey with the Drava Bike Route, a cycling route connecting four different countries and promoting soft mobility; or discover the Green Pyrenees Slow Tourism project, aiming to modernize the Train of the Lakes boosting eco-mobility and sustainable development. The Slovenian Tourism Board will share their marketing strategies to disperse the flow of tourists over space and time.
