In an increasingly competitive landscape of tourism destinations worldwide, reaching the desired audience has become tricky and effortful. At the same time, travelers today are more skeptical and seek more information than ever to have trust in the USPs of a destination. In this workshop, Simon Reuter from Outdooractive will show in-depth how Outdoor Tourism Platforms help destinations to reach target groups directly, inform travelers comprehensively and involve stakeholders in a participatory way through easy-to-create, quality content. The protection of sensitive natural areas, the understanding and management of visitor flows, and the empowerment of small, local stakeholders are at the heart of this.
