Round Table: Green Destinations Global Leaders National and Regional Initiatives

28 September @ 11:15 - 13:00 EEST

Conference Room: Silver Forest Plenary – BCDE

The Global Leaders Program aims to encourage destinations to adopt good destination management practices from industry leaders and apply these learnings to formulate their personalised sustainability action plans. Global Leaders members pledge to brainstorm, plan, ideate, and adopt a comprehensive destination management strategy, discussed through a vast nexus of the Global Leaders Network. This allows countries to benefit from a GSTC-Accredited certification program and a GSTC-Recognised standard for destination sustainability. Further, it offers tailor-made training and promotional support businesses through the Good Travel Program business certification.

What can I expect from the Round Table discussions?

This global round table discussion is intended to highlight the use of products and services for sustainable destination development in the global discussion and to focus on implementing the Green Destinations product range as a complete package at the national level. A cohort of industry professionals with years of rich expertise in sustainable tourism management will lead the charge of the panel.

The attendees can expect high-intensity discussions around initiatives that generate creative solutions for typical destination management problems and inspire destinations from the successes and mistakes of others. To broaden the spectrum of this salient ‘cooperation’ and to inspire destinations worldwide to learn or share good destination management practices, we would like to showcase some of the leading success stories of destinations from our Global Leaders Network: Slovenia, Estonia and Guyana.
